K2K Mexico Missions Closed Until the Violence Ends

Our beautiful missions in Mexico are closed temporarily due to the extreme violence that has now come to us. Earlier this year we had wonderful visitors, both adults and youth who served the people in five different villages. In all we had a Medical Mission headed by our brave Neva Schmeltzer, R.N. and her husband Tony who is Operations Coordinator. We had other professional medical staff and youth who took part in teaching hygiene in fun ways. In each village there were Bible based arts, crafts and storytelling. Kids to Kids helping them discover the loving Father we share and His Son, Jesus. Another part of this group were the workers who together with villagers put down a cement floor in the little church on the water, Maria Estrella del Mar. (Mary Star of the Sea) They also lifted and mounted a huge cement cross on top of Cristo Rey in the village of LaChona. We had a beautiful week of prayer services, masses, reflections and recreation. All in all it was a very remarkable and spiritual mission. But now the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in El Barratal where our loved priest, Fr. Nacho serves is bullet ridden with the office shot up and where 12 people died. What a waste. What is God thinking about us all?
Spring break of 2011 will be in Guatemala working to help the Casa del Pescador kids. I know it will be a special mission that will change peoples lives for the better and I am looking forward to it. But - let us all continue to pray for Mexico and our sisters and brothers who are living in fear there right now. Their lives are more difficult than before due to the violence and some kids are not even able to go to school. Please join us and pray for peace.
Bless you one and all in His Name, Amen

House of the Fisherman

The House of the Fisherman is K2K's Guatemalan "Casa Del Pescador" (Dump Kids) project. For over 10 years K2K has worked towards providing food, medicine and health care as well as education for over 100 kids in the small town of Pastores which is near Antigua, Guatemala. The Associacion de Casa del Pescador consists of some local Christian people who through their Bible study group, decided they needed to put their Love in Action to help the poor. They have been a very commited group and K2K is honored to support them. The help they need to continue this good work is an opportunity for all who Care and Follow Jesus to put their Love in Action.

Antigua is a beautiful place and it is a Spiritual place. Churches on almost every corner. Bells ringing throughout the day off and on. One feels the presents of the Saints especially Santo Hermano Pedro, in the hospital he began over 300 years ago. He is known as the Mother Teresa of Antigua. He was a simple man who showed the abandonded, sick, and hungry the great compasion and love of Jesus.

I hope that the video presented here will touch your heart in a way that will lead you to help in the building of the much needed nutrition/health/education center, Casa Del Pescador which for years to come will be a ray of HOPE to many beautiful children and give them a better life.

You will be in the prayers of the children, missionaries and volunteers daily.

In faith, hope, love and joy!

Casa Del Pescador

Three named storms have hit our Dump Kids project called "Casa Del Pescador" since May 30th of this year. The volunteer team say they have fed as many as 4000 people instead of our regular 100. The time is now, after 10 years of being moved by in-coming Mayors, to build a facility that will serve the needs of the poor for many years to come, helping them in nutrition, health and education. We need your help. There are several things you can do to put your Love in Action!

Become a K2K Millennium "1000" Club Member or an Associate "500" Club Member. Your gift will help to build Casa del Pescador in Guatemala and your name will be written on the "Wall of Fame" in addition to the Children Praying for you in Thanksgiving before every meal! You can't ask for better than that!

Here is what we need:

  • 35 walls @ $500.00 each
  • 10 floors @ $1500.00
  • 11.5 Ceilings @ $1250.00
  • Lots of Breedlove food shipped @ $100.00 a case (Includes shipping)
  • Fresh chicken and vegetables as well as fruit to be purchased in Guate.
  • Medicines to be purchased in Guate
  • Equiptment and supplies for Computer class, carpentry class and metal art class for youth.

You can be a Missionary and help kids have a better future by loving like Jesus did and sharing.

The United Nations reported that Guatemala is the poorest country in Latin America and nearly 50% of her Children suffer from Malnutrition. 75% of the families cannot buy a basket of food due to the extreme poverty. Iliteracy is a big issue and illness due to poor hygeine causes much suffering for children and their parents.

Thank you for caring. You can make a donation through PayPal on our website or send your gift of Love to K2K Mission Hope, P.O. Box 4833, Temple, Texas 76505
