Spring Break 2010

The people who formed the "Mission Guadalupe" Spring Break Missionaries of Hope were youth, adults and professionals. Several families came as part of the group. The Medical Mission team was comprised of nurses, nursing students and village health promotors. Teaching was a big part of the Medical Mission. The goal was to teach something sustainable as well as help in what ever area of medical attention was needed. The youth were a part of this medical mission in teaching how to properly wash your hands, wound care and more. They made it fun for the kids to learn and gave lots of treats to seal the deal. Religious Education was another facet to the trip. Youth and adults teaching religious education made Johna and the Whale come to life big time. Our youth musicians made the liturgcal celebrations much more beautiful by sharing their gifts and talents of guitar and voice. They took a few English songs and put Spanish words to them, sharing them with the communities we visited. While all these things were going on in various villages, our menfolk were helping put down a cement floor in the little church of Maria Estrella Del Mar. It turned out beautiful.
A special thank you to everyone who made this Spring Break Great! Looking forward to the next.
God bless you all
